Our Aims

At Sunflowers Pre-School we aim to create a nurturing, stimulating environment for all children in our care. We focus on child-led play, with carefully planned provision and activities to ensure the children are gaining new experiences to extend and support their learning and development.

Our Out of School Clubs create a fun, safe environment for children to relax, enjoy and be sociable in before an after school. We provide breakfast and light tea along with extensive age-appropriate resources and activities.

History

The Pre-School opened at the beginning of the school term in September 2017. Managed by Louisa Cowler who works as the Early Years Practitioner in the morning at Thorley Hill nursery. Louisa has over 25 years experience working with young children in a range of settings.

In September 2020 the Out of School Clubs opened to create more wrap around care for parents and children of Thorley Hill School and Sunflowers Pre-School.

The Session

The pre-school afternoon sessions we provide offer a seamless transition from the morning nursery of Thorley Hill. This makes the 30 hours funding available between these two separate provisions. If your child does not attend the morning session at Thorley Hill they are still very welcome to join us for the afternoon and can do this from their 3rd birthday.

The Pre-School session time is:

11.50am - 3pm

Breakfast Club- 7.45am until school starts

After School Club- From school finish-6.15pm
